Suke…I just wanted to call you out specifically for your fantastic books and instruction in Lead Guitar II and Rhythm class. I took up guitar late in life, with absolutely zero background at all in music. I’m talking baby knowledge. For the several years I’ve played, I’ve definitely enjoyed and improved. But…I never could clarify in my head how music worked…and how the guitar really worked…until your class Suke. Your ability to separate out being a musician and guitarist suddenly separated everything for me and it all started making sense. Plus, your outstanding ability to simplify the guitar anatomy, to share your personal frustrations and experience and revelations in your own career, and your style of teaching have made a profound difference. Suddenly, the idea of music is understandable and accessible, and the craft of playing the guitar can be practiced and built. So, without doubt, you’ve detangled a bunch of clumped up ideas in my head and you’ve clarified a world. I actually sat at a piano the other day and having no knowledge of a piano could suddenly “see” how it all worked together.

Suke's background as a professional musician and lifetime student of guitar make him a master of teaching anyone at any level in their musicianship. I came to Suke as a self-taught guitarist of 14 years and he not only helped me learn what I aimed to learn but he also clarified the musical vocabulary and theories behind what my ears and hands naturally knew. Before even meeting Suke, I was told how amazing he was as both a player and a teacher. Not only did I know this to be true at our very first lesson, but Suke has continued to exceed my expectations in terms of what a guitar teacher can be. His musical knowledge expands well outside of just the guitar, and our lessons very often touch on other areas of music that help me to continuously grow as a musician.
